Muck away is a catchy name for a service where inert waste is removed from homes or commercial premises, helping to keep a construction site tidy and clear. This service is particularly useful for construction projects where you are anticipating a large amount of inert waste to be created.

The type of truck we use can depend on the access and layout of your site. While tipper trucks are ideal for collecting large amounts of waste, the process required to load them can be inviable for some locations, so grab lorries are preferred.

Muck away lorries can take a variety of materials, from bricks and rubble to soil and aggregates.

The grab lorries we use for our muck away services boast a capacity of 16 tonnes, so there’s plenty of room for whatever it is you might need. Whether you’ve got a few hundred bricks that need removing, or you need to get rid of bags of soil from your garden, we can collect it all.

The amount of loads needed for your site clearance depends entirely on how much material you need removing. The large capacity of our lorries means we can take up to 16 tonnes of material per visit, but for the largest projects, 16 tonnes might not be enough and multiple visits might be required.

We have stringent rules in place for the safe disposal of any and all materials that we collect. If it can be recycled, we will recycle it, and if it can’t, we’ll dispose of it in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. If you need us to collect hazardous waste, we will use the appropriate procedures and equipment to ensure it is collected and dealt with safely.

If your materials are sorted into a neat, easily-accessible pile, then we can load our grab lorries within 15-30 minutes.

The grab lorries that we use for our muck away services are around 3 metres wide, and usually around 4 metres tall. The grab arm can help navigate certain obstacles, so it’s not the end of the world if your site does not perfectly cater for the dimensions of the truck.

In terms of headroom, a truck will need at least 3.8 metres, but the extendable grab arm must be factored in, too. This means that a minimum of 2 additional metres will be required to operate the arm.

Yes! The extendable arm means that we can reach over walls and fences to collect material that is ready to be removed.

Muck away services do not cover hazardous waste. Hazardous waste requires extra care and special precautions, but fear not, we are licensed, skilled and experienced in the handling of hazardous materials. Simply get in touch with us today to find out how we can help you.
